Auction Score

Went to the auction last night looking yet again for dressers and again not finding any I liked. I really want some nice old dressers made from wood not particle board lol.

I did end up getting a cedar lined blanket chest that is awesome for $40. The inside is flawless the outside needs some sanding and refinishing but that's ok as I can eventually match it to whatever furnature I decide to put in my bedroom.

I also got a huge papasan chair for Dave. It's in good condition just needs a few pieces of wicker reattached but the frame is in good shape as is the cushion. It was only $5

The auction was a madhouse First the kitchen caught fire. (grease fire no one was hurt but was very exciting lol) then the lights kept going out. Ugh it took forever to finish and we were there until 1am packing up our stuff.

Bake Sale update!

Well the bake sale went very well. We sold everything and are planning on doing another one in July. It was a great turnout. I ended up just making chocolate fudge cupcakes with homemade chocolate icing and shaved white and dark chocolate to decorate them. What a blast.

Bake Sale

At work we are doing a charity bake sale for a local little girl with cancer. All employees are asked to bring some treats already packed and priced ready to sell.

I haven't decided what to make. I might do Cake Balls as they seem interesting. I want to do something interesting that isn't likely to have been done by anyone else. Who knows what else I'll make.

Short Vacation

Well I've been gone all weekend long. Dad, Dave and I drove up to my Mom's house this weekend for a pig roast. My sisters Candy and Michelle where there with their families as well as other various family members and lots of my mom and stepdad's friends.

It was a long drive friday after work considering I didn't get to bed until 3 am that morning and was back up at 5:30 to get ready for work. Then driving 4 hours to northern PA with 2 dogs was no picnic lol. We did get back fairly early sunday so we were able to relax.

Today (my day off at work) was spent trying to mow the lawn, We have an acre of ground that needs to be mowed horribly. I broke one mower (blew a fuse or something) the other got something stuck around the blades so I had to wait until Dave got home to help me fix it. We we only got part of the yard mowed. I did start mowing around the trees and fences with the push mower. My back aches now LOL. We'll have to finish later.

New Plants

So we went to Walmart yesterday for a few random things. I decided to check out the garden center and they had the most beautiful Jade plants. They are still small but the leaves are tipped with pink. So I had to buy one of course. And they also had some nice Aloe plants for a good price so I got one of them too. I am finally getting to the point where I can start getting houseplants again. And I just love my two little plants. I've already repotted them and they look great. I might go back to Wallyworld soon and get a couple other succulants/cacti I saw there. I am a sucker for them lol.

Flooring

Well we put more flooring down in the living room last night. It's almost finished we're up to where the hallway connects to the living room. We just have to move the rest of the furnature out of the living room so we can finish. We also bought some heavy duty varnish for the floors boy is that stuff expensive. $40 a gallon. We're leaving the floors natural with a satin gloss on the floor. We had to get the heavy duty stuff because of the dogs. They are hard on flooring.
We are so close to having a finished living room I can't wait. We do need to purchase 2 pieces of drywall and 2 windows for the room. It also needs painted and the trim work needs done as well as finishing the mantel. It's going to be great.
We're going to paint the walls chocolate brown and the tile around the fireplace and entry way look like this:
All the trim work and ceiling is going to be white. Furnature will be brown accented with pinks. Ahh I just can't wait!

Auction Madness

Well I went to the Auction last night (It's held every saturday and has EVERYTHING) I was looking for bedroom furnature mainly dressers and a blanket chest. Ugh they didn't have anything I wanted. So I came home with a bunch of juice, a cropper hopper photo keeper, and a bunch of ashtrays LOL. Oh well you can't win every time. Last week I got a set of ipod speakers for $12 they are the inMotion kind. They work great and they retail for over $100.

I don't have to work tomorrow as Mondays are my day off but it's going to be an unpleasant day anyway. I have to call around and find an oral surgery office. I left work early on friday with major tooth pain in my wisdom tooth. I got an emergency dentist visit and after some x-rays I was told I have 3 abceses in my mouth on two different teeth. The funny thing is that the tooth with 2 abceses doesn't even hurt. So I need to have two different oral surgeries in the next few months. The main thing is getting my wisdom teeth removed as that is where the pain is now. But within the next 6 months I have to get a root canal on the other tooth.

So I'm on yet another antibiotic for the abceses. They gave me lortab for pain and I hate it. It makes me dizzy and sick to my stomach. So I'm just taking motrin and it seems to take the edge off. I can't wait to get these teeth out lol.

Great Customer Service

(also posted on 2peas)

I just have to share my awesome customer service story. First off, I purchased an HP Ipod from tech for less (an online store) back in Sept of 06. I was Factory Reconditioned and I was told it had a 1 year manufacture warranty on it when I bought it.

Well lately I've been having battery problems with it. I called HP (who I was told to call for warranty issues when I bought this ipod) After TWO days of e-mailing (they don't allow phone customer service apparantly) back and forth with customer support I was told my warranty expired 5 months BEFORE I even bought the thing and tried to charge me $75 to replace the battery.

I called Tech for Less and explained my issues with HP to them. They are sending me a NEW Ipod no questions asked. AND it's even better than the one I have now because they are out of stock on mine. I currently have the HP 30G photo. They are sending me an Apple generation 5 (not sure what that means lol) 30G Video Ipod.

I was on the phone with this guy for a total of 5 minutes and he resolved my problem. Now that's some good customer service. (Not to mention I actually spoke to someone in the US who spoke english unlike HP who I'm sure were in India or the like because there was a language barrier there)

So I'm very happy today (At least about this LOL)

Pictures Pictures Pictures

Here are some Pictures of my Babies!
This is our youngest puppy. His name is Scooby. We call him 'Goober' most of the time. We got him from a rescue In 2005. He loves playing in his pool. He's part German Shepherd Part Lab. He's a very sweet puppy.
This is our Puppy Oliver. We call him 'Ollie' We got him at the pound in San Antonio in 2004. Oliver is five. He's a big dog in a tiny body :) He's part Chihuahua part dauschund. He loves sleeping under the covers and he just loves to howl.
This is our dog Baby. We adopted her in San Antonio. She is 7 years old. She was hit by a car years ago and lost her front leg. She does very well on three legs. She is part Beagle part who knows what lol. She's a lovable pup with big ears :)
This is our cat Lil Bit. She's grown up now but this is the only good picture I have of her. I found Lil Bit in a parking lot in San Antonio. She was tied up inside a garbage bag. Someone had thrown her away. She's now a fat happy cat living here in the country.
This is our cat 'Jack'. She's female named after Capt. Jack from the movies. She's the most lovable of our cats and is always purring.

This is Patches. I got her when I was 10 years old. This makes her 16 years old. She's been a wonderful cat and I hope she's got plently of more years left in her.
Well those are my babies :)

About Me....My Introduction

Hi I'm Cheri and I'm 26 years old. I live in western Maryland with my Significant Other (SO) Dave. We moved to MD in 2005 and are currently remodelling the house we purchased. We are currently TTC (trying to conceive) after two losses. Our Son Devin Thomas was born early at 17 w 5 days on 4/26/02 and a recent loss at 6w on 04/21/07 . We do have 3 dogs and 3 cats that we love to pieces. I will post photos of them shortly.

As I mentioned above we are currently remodelling our home. Everything is being replaced. We've already done the roof and more than half the interior walls were torn down and then rebuilt in other spots. We're changing the layout of the house all around and eventually it will be wonderful. We hope lol. We still have to replace floor beams and such on half of the house so that's stopping us from doing much there so living room and bedrooms and a bathroom is about all we can do until that is done. We have our living room Almost done. The fireplace is in and the mantel is almost completely finished being built. Tile (a pretty slate) has been put down around the fireplace and in front of the front door (which is near the fireplace) We started putting down the hardwood flooring in the living room but have to go back to pick up the rest this weekend. It's a very nice looking 12" wide pine flooring. We are leaving it a natural color.

After the flooring is done and the rest of the drywall is up all the room will need is Windows (which we still haven't picked out) and paint. We're painting the room a nice chocolate brown. All the trim and the fireplace mantel will be white. We got the most awesome fan for the living room too. The blades look like leaves. It's very pretty. Once it's done then we get to finish the guest bathroom. (more on that on a later post)

Well I think that's about it. :)
